Cards On Saturday #3

Hei! Today I want to share my cards which I made with the Marks & Co card kit. I love the colours of this kit. I lifted some of the cards by the fabulous designteam. Thanks, Dana Fleckstein, Dawn McVey, Lisa Spangler, Maile Belles and Robin Werlich for all the inspiration!

I made this fun 2 page layout about our vacation in Denmark with the Roundabout kits, Pier add on from Studio Calico and some papers from Crate and Websters Pages. Love all the fun and happy colours and embellishments. I lifted a layout by Shimelle and I love using a lot of photos here!

I made another page with the Roundabout scrapbook kit and Navy Pier add on from Studio Calico. The big orange alphas are really cool, but they were difficult to adhere though. I did not want to sew them on the page, so I used some glossy accents and that worked just fine.
I took these pictures at our vacation in Zandvoort aan Zee. We went bowling on our last evening and it was a fun event, because it was the first time for the kids.

Today: Matt & Leon

So we visited Haarlem in the Netherlands. Love this city. And yes, I lived there for 6 months in 1990, almost 23 years ago. Miss all the buildings, shops and the river Spaarne.
We did this amazing canal boat trip through Haarlem. The tour took us along the city`s attractive waterways including the river Spaarne, Haarlem`s oldest canal Bakenessergracht and the majestic Nieuwe Gracht. This was a unique way to see the most beautiful buildings and monuments in Haarlem. The boys liked it so much!
I lifted a page by Shimelle and used some supplies from the Roundabout kits (Studio Calico) and some paper and stickers from the cute Poppy collection and a much older collection by Little Yellow Bicycle!

The boys at Legoland

This summer was fun. At our roadtrip to the Netherlands we drove through 4 different european countries. We started in Norway where we live, than headed over to Denmark. Our first stop was of course Legoland in Billund. The boys always wanted to go there, it was actually their biggest wish. So we stayed there one whole day and we had a lot of fun. The boys loved the Chimaworld and of course all the fun rides! I loved Atlantis. These pictures where taken at the Minilegoland and the buildings are supposed to be famous buildings and the "magere brug" (the skinny bridge) in Amsterdam. So fun!

Orange makes me happy

I love to take pictures of flowers! These orange ones make me so happy! To emphasize my happy feeling I used a lot of bright and fun colours on my layout! The confetti remembers me of fun summerparties!

Cards on saturday #2

I made some cards with the Valley High card kit. Love the inspiration of the designteam lately, so I lifted a whole bunch of cards! Thanks, Danielle Flanders, Dana Fleckenstein, Jennifer Picard, Lisa Spangler and Maile Belles for all your wonderful ideas! I just loved the card kit!

Amsterdam Magna Plaza

Oh yes, this huge and beautiful building in Amsterdam was once a very fancy old postoffice. Now its just a mall near the Palace and well most of the shops are closed. Thats bad, but the building is still nice though. When I lived in the Netherlands I used to shop there and I bought a lot of clothes and shoes in the stylish shops...these shops are all gone now. Yes, the good old times are over. The people do not have enough money for expensive clothes and shoes...
I scrapped the page with the Valley High scrapbook kit which included this dark brown cardstock. This is not my favourite colour, but hey: sometimes you just have to use what you get and I think this coffeebrown colour looks quite sophisticated so its ok for me.

Hi Atlantis

In july we went to Legoland in Billund, Denmark. It was awesome. We had nice and sunny wheather and we had a fun time! The boys just love Lego and it was their biggest wish to visit Legoland one day. So we took the ferry from Larvik in Norway to Hirtshals in Denmark and drove all the way down to Legoland! It was worth the long trip though. The best part of Legoland in my eyes is Atlantis. The boys loved it too, but they said they liked the Chima miniland and film most and of course all the fun rides.
I made this page after a sketch by Shimelle and used the Valley High scrapbook kit by Studio Calico.

It`s not a job, it`s a life style

Oh yes! I just love this quote. Its so true. This graffiti is art, its part of an installation at an art gallery in Amsterdam. It was closed that day, but I took this picture. I used a sketch by Shimelle and the confetti is really a fun embellishment. And yes, I like to use cardstock for my backgrounds lately, its a plain and simple look and I quite like that. Its a bit oldfashioned and remembers me of the good old days back in 2005 when I started with the most wonderful hobby in the world.

Love all these bikes

There are 18 million bicycles in the Netherlands and 2 million of those are located in Amsterdam! I love all these fancy bikes. I had to take lots of pictures that day when I visited Amsterdam together with my dear husband. The bicycles on the photos are so feminine. Love the pink one with the flowers most.
I lifted an old page by Laura and used the Valley High scrapbook kit. Unfortunately Lauras blog is not open for public anymore, I am wondering if she still is scrapbooking. I just love her style and feminine pages very much. You can see her and her wonderful daughters sometimes on pages by Shimelle.

Gravestenen Brug Haarlem

Almost 20 years ago I lived in Haarlem (Netherlands). I just love this city. It has some really nice and very old houses and buildings. This summer I visited Haarlem and I took some pictures near the Gravenstenen brug. The Gravenstenen brug is a white bridge over the river Spaarne in the city centre of Haarlem. I lived nearby and I had to cross this bridge every single day when riding my bike to the "Pedagogische Academie Basisonderwijs" (PABO) where I studied to become a teacher.
I lifted a page by Shimelle and I took 3 pictures instead of 2. Love the colours of the papers and embellishments from the Valley High Kit from Studio Calico, this kit is just perfect for all my pictures from the Netherlands.

Zandvoort aan Zee

Zandvoort aan Zee is a small town in the Netherlands, in the province of North Holland and I love being there. Zandvoort is also one of the major beach resorts of the Netherlands. Amsterdam and Haarlem are not far away, so Zandvoort is the perfect place for a short trip! You can visit both cities and you can relax at the beach! Just perfect for us! I stayed with my family at Centerparks and we had some great days at the nearby beach. I took some cool pictures there.
Here you can see how I made this simple but fun mini album! I was inspired by Mitchell Kraft. Love his "Right Now Mini Album".

I just used some thicker cardstock that comes with the addons from Studio Calico, some pretty paper, old book sheets, stickers, Jenni Bowlin dabbers, washitape and some pictures. I used my sewing machine and my old Selphy for printing the pictures.

Here are the finished pages:
