Crafting With Kids [Cupcaketoppers]

Hei and welcome to my new series "crafting with kids". I have two boys aged 6 and 9 and they love to craft with paper and other stuff. One will be an artist or a designer one day and the other one wants to be a pilote but he is the one who loves scrapbooking and making cards most. So I decided my boys are pretty perfect for this job! And they loved it!

Today my kids and I want to show you how you can make cool cupcaketoppers. All you need is pretty paper, some punches or dies for a manual die cutting machine, some adhesive and some toothpicks.

First we selected some beautiful papers from the basic collection by Pebbles in red, yellow, darkblue and aqua. The kids liked to have starshaped cupcaketoppers so we decided to make some stars and circles with the help of some dies and a die cutting machine. My kids have their own one and they love to use this tool.

After that the boys adhered the stars to the circles on one side. Then the boys adhered circles to the circles with the stars. In between those circles they adhered a toothpick.

My job was the baking part. I made some vanilla cupcakes with white chocolate frosting after a recipe of Manuela, a norwegian blogger and baker.
I made these cupcakes for the birthdayparty of my oldest son. He had a big party today with all the boys from his class and they loved the cupcakes!

Travel Stories

Playa Blanca

Papagayo Beach

We are back from the Canary Islands and we had a wonderful vacation on the island Lanzarote, one of the most beautiful islands I have ever been. The boys had a lot of fun at the pool at the Hotel Sun Royal and at the Papagayo beach near Playa Blanca!

We have seen so many beautiful places like Playa Blanca, Yaiza, Marina del Rubicon, Arrecife, Puerto del Carmen and Teguise. We visited the Jameo del Agua lagoon, which was formed by a volcanic eruption and we have been to the Jardin de Cactus, a garden which was designed by the well known artist and architect César Manrique, who was born in Arrecife.

The most breathtaking place was the Timanfaya National Park in the southwestern part of the island. The parkland is entirely made up of volcanic soil. The statue "El Diabolo" by César Manrique is its symbol.

Happy New Year!

Hi guys! I wish you all a happy new year!
This scrapbook layout is a page about last year. I took some pictures from last year and this will be the last page in my 2013 album! Time to scrap some new pages for the new album. I want to start with Project Life this year and I really hope I will finish 1 or maybe 2 albums. So wish me luck. What are your scrappy plans this year?

The Time Is Now... - Scrapbook Layout

And we gave it time
All eyes are on the clock
Time takes too much time
Please make the waiting stop

Give up yourself unto the moment
The time is now
Give up yourself unto the moment
Let's make this moment last.

"The time is now" is my all time favourite song by the British Band Moloko! Love the song and the video so much! I really hope time will go by soon and you guys will have a nice and happy new year!

Party Pics - Scrapbook Layout

This scrapbook layout is made with leftovers. I had some pictures left from my last birthday party (I printed them twice, do not know why) and I had some leftovers from the Cuppa scrapbook kit. So I made this funny page with them. I used some washitape and wood veneers to embellish the page. Easy. I am really curious what will be the next big trend in scrapbooking.

Me, Myself And I - Scrapbook Layout

Yes its me! With a around striped towel my head. Looks funny, right? I took this picture after my first visit at the new sauna (badstue is it called in Norway) in our backyard. I was tired but the sauna is really great. Love to go there. Its perfect for cold wheater and relaxing...I am one busy woman so I really do need this on a regular basis! Made this page with the Cuppa scrapbook kit by Studio Calico and I lifted a page from the gallery. Love all the inspiration there! Makes scrapbooking a lot easier.
